Stephen Royle has reached retirement age with his Oxford University contract. His employment formally ends
on 18th December.
I am delighted to say that the OUBC will immediately be re-engaging Stephen's services in a half-time position
as there are a number of projects which Stephen is inextricably involved with, which need to be concluded, as well
as some new initiatives which are well suited to his professional skills. There is even a danger that he will
venture back into a coaching launch occasionally!
Stephen's passion for the Club and rowing are stronger than ever and his continuing close work with the Club
beyond 18th December means this is not the moment to list all that he has done and achieved.
At this juncture, I would simply like to record my gratitude to him, personally and on behalf of all the Club's
members, for all that he has done for the Club, its members and Oxford rowing in the past and all that he will do
in the future.
